Deputy Director for Pedagogical Affairs – Oran Ben Joya

Born in Kiryat Yam, Oran is a graduate of both the Military Preparatory Boarding School and the Hebrew Reali School. He is married to Dalit, is the father of four children, and a grandfather to one granddaughter.

Upon completing his studies, Oran enlisted in the Israel Defense Forces Armored Corps. During his military service, he held a range of command and combat positions in both the Armored Corps and the Moran Unit. He later commanded the Moran Unit and subsequently the Yiftach Armored Brigade, attaining the rank of Colonel.

Following his discharge from the IDF, Oran managed two manufacturing plants in northern Israel for approximately five years. About 16 years ago, he decided to pursue a career in education and completed an academic retraining program in civics education at Oranim College. Upon completing the program, he began his educational career at the Hebrew Reali School.

Over the years, Oran has held a wide variety of positions at the school, including Civics and History teacher at the Hadar and Ahuza middle schools; teacher and homeroom educator at Beit Biram; grade-level coordinator at Beit Biram; principal of the Hadar division and later of the entire campus (Grades 1–9); Budding domain director at Beit Biram, overseeing the advancement of 9th-grade students to the upper school campus; educator and leader of the small classes at Beit Biram; and founder of the Ofek program for Leadership and Political Science. He currently serves as the school’s deputy director for pedagogical affairs.

Oran is a graduate of the IDF Command and Staff College (PUM), holds a Bachelor’s degree in Logistics Management from Bar-Ilan University, and a Master’s degree (EMBA) in Business Management from Tel Aviv University.
