The field of science and the field of the arts are many times considered to be two distant ends, across the human cultural continuum bar. The uniqueness of the Hadar Campus stems from the understanding that these two poles complement one another combining both educational and emotional-values. Thus, they must be dealt with simultaneously, leading through the empowerment of each field on its own, to the mutual synergy of the two domains, forming the development of the student as a whole.
As of 2020, the Hadar branch has been operating as a unified complex – uniting the branch of the elementary classes in Hadar and the middle school under a pedagogical continuum and joint management.
At the Hadar campus, students study five days a week. In this framework, classes take place on Sundays-Thursdays, with each school day opening at 08:00 and ending at 14:15 – for all ages. This allows for pedagogical mentoring and closer accompaniment of teachers to students and provides a better personal response of the teaching staff to each student’s individual path.
As part of the implementation of the “Real 2030” program, the Hadar complex is a home for two pedagogical domains: the Seeding Domain – for grades 1-4 (operating in the former elementary school complex), and the Germination Domain – for grades 5-8 (operating in the former middle school area) As part of the program, a technology literacy program is also implemented in all age groups, which provides students with skills and competencies in four different dimensions of the technological world.
The history of the Hebrew Real School in Haifa begins in the Hadar High School building, where the pedagogical and educational aspects of the school were shaped from its inception to the present day. The first building in the branch, the historic Dome Building (“Beit Shapira”) was inaugurated in 1913, but only in 1921 did all school students in grades 7-12 begin to study there. When the branch school split, Hadar High School continued to serve the sister divisions – Carmel Center Branch and Ahuza Branch, through the “Institute for Homework and Self-Study”, which was designed to strengthen “reform” students from all branches.

WE BELIEVE:
Hadar Complex for Science and the Arts is the place where the story of the Hebrew Real School in Haifa began.
Our school is the place where the educational statement devoid of the school’s vision: “..human beings, involved and impactful in Israeli society…” and the statement “be modest”, are manifested in action.
Our school relies on a number of elements that constitute the essence of its existence:
Belief in students and giving everyone a chance – every student is entitled to full trust in him as a capable person – according to their skills, inclinations, and affiliations. We do not give up on anyone.
The combination of science and the arts, besides being complementary, provides every boy and girl with an opportunity to express themselves, develop their belief in their abilities, overcome their own limits, and experience success that is entirely theirs.
Love – The school teachers and the entire staff come to the school every day out of love for the students, out of a sincere and genuine desire to do the best we can, out of a desire to do good for the person – as a human being.
Professionalism – The school staff engages day and night in continuous construction, based on continually learning and renewing the curricula, in order to bring our students the most accurate, relevant, meaningful, and applicable learning experience.
Setting boundaries alongside freedom of action – In order for this whole system to work, the boundaries of what is allowed and what is forbidden are clear and defined, in speech and deed. Within these boundaries, the teacher’s autonomy is highly significant, while the student’s freedom of action and initiative – is always nurtured with love and openness, to which the students respond through their initiatives and activism.
We believe that this way follows the heritage of the Hebrew Reali school, and facilitates the preparation of students for their adulthood in the future.
In this, each of our students, as an individual and as part of a team, is given the tools to believe in their own power and abilities, and is provided with the conditions to develop their independent learning ability; Our students are equipped with critical thinking, and the tools for making informed and conscious choices in their lives.
Above all, we direct our graduates to grow and become human beings who are aware, care for others, and are actively involved in their immediate and distant surroundings alike.
